A conversation with Audrey, Founder of MIMITIKA

• When did the idea of ​​creating your own brand come about?

I created MIMITIKA out of a personal frustration: I never liked using sunscreen because it left my skin oily and sticky. My goal was to create sun protection products that people would actually enjoy applying and that would instantly evoke the feeling and memories of summer.

• What is the meaning of the name MIMITIKA?

I wanted a brand name that was cheerful, fun, and that would immediately put people in a good mood. At the same time, I was launching a very serious product category—sun protection—so it was essential to convey trust.

I went back to my childhood memories, knowing that they often evoke a feeling of comfort and security. That's when I remembered Mimi Cracra , a character from children's books that I loved very much when I was little. I loved the sound and rhythm of the name, so I started playing with the syllables until I arrived at MIMITIKA .

What distinguishes Mimitika from other cosmetic brands?

At MIMITIKA, we believe there's something special about how people feel in the summer: their skin glows, they wear less makeup, and life seems lighter. Our mission is to provide that feeling year-round through products that are pleasant to use, highly effective, and help enhance a natural tan.

We also place great importance on our formulas: clean ingredients, carefully selected active ingredients, ultra-sensory textures, and added benefits for the skin. For example, our sunscreens not only protect the skin but also hydrate it and contain a natural active ingredient that helps stimulate the natural tanning process. They are much more than just sunscreens.

• Currently, we are witnessing the growth of eco-responsible cosmetic brands. What is Mimitika's position as a sustainable brand?

Sustainability is a very important issue for us and, as a brand specializing in sun protection, we believe we have a special responsibility towards the environment, especially the oceans.

From the outset, we have taken extreme care in choosing UV filters. We have never used filters banned by Hawaiian law, such as oxybenzone and octinoxate, and we have selected only filters considered among the safest currently available, according to current scientific knowledge.

Our goal is to offer highly effective sun protection while making responsible choices for both people and the environment.

• Why should everyone include Mimitika in their beauty routine?

Today we know that one of the best ways to prevent premature skin aging is to use sunscreen every day. That alone is an excellent reason to include MIMITIKA in your daily routine.

Our formulas are lightweight, non-greasy, non-comedogenic, and moisturizing, making them easy and pleasant to use daily. We believe sun protection should be a pleasure, not an obligation.

• What is Mimitika's favorite product?

I love our Watermelon Body Scrub . For me, it's one of the best products we've ever developed. Thanks to the combination of two different sizes of salt grains, it exfoliates effectively without irritating the skin. Enriched with watermelon oil, it leaves the skin incredibly soft, smooth, and hydrated.
